Analysis of the Signs of the Mahdi’s Reappearance
Naser Rafiei Mohammadiwas born on May 5, 1965 (15 Ordibehesht 1344 in the Solar Hijri calendar) in the city of Qom He completed his primary, middle, and high school education in Qom and graduated in 1983 with a diploma in Experimental Sciences. After finishing high school, he entered the Qom Seminary and, within five years, completed the intermediate (Sath) level of seminary studies up to Kifayat al-Usul. While studying in the fifth level, he ranked first in the examination of the Seminary Management Council and, in recognition of this achievement, received a complete set of Bihar al-Anwar as a gift from Ruhollah Khomeini. He pursued his intermediate seminary studies under scholars such as Vojdani Fakhr, Etemadi, Payani, Dozdouzani, Salavati, Rasti, Kashani, and Sotoudeh. From 1989 to 1994, he attended advanced jurisprudence (Fiqh) and principles (Usul) classes taught by Mohammad Fazel Lankarani, Hossein Mazaheri, and Yousef Sanei. Alongside his primary seminary curriculum, he also studied supplementary subjects including philosophy, Qur’anic sciences, Sharh Tajrid, Qur’anic exegesis (Tafsir), and Rijal. Simultaneously with his seminary education, he pursued university studies, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Baqir al-Ulum University and a Master’s degree in the same field from Qom University. In 1994, he was admitted to the PhD program in Qur’anic Sciences and Hadith at the University of Tehran and, in 1998, successfully defended his dissertation and received his doctorate. He has served as the representative of the Supreme Leader’s Office at Semnan University and as the head of the Shi‘a Studies Department at Al-Mustafa International University, where he is currently a faculty member. He also serves as the secretary of the annual national conference “Sadaf-e Kowsar.” During his student years, he was active in distributing statements and leaflets against the Pahlavi government. After the victory of the 1979 Revolution and the establishment of the Islamic Republican Party, he joined its student branch.
