Professor Seyyed Mohsen Mirbagheri (born May 28, 1984) is an Iranian lecturer. He is known for his controversial lectures at universities on religions and sectarianism the apocalypse, Mahdism, Satanism, was born in the holy city of Qom in 1949. Before entering elementary school, he learned to read the Quran in full. In elementary school, he memorized the Quran and in high school, he began to understand its meanings. He continued his academic education up to a doctorate in the field of Quranic and Hadith sciences, while simultaneously studying seminary courses. During his undergraduate studies, before the victory of the revolution, he worked hard to establish the prayer room of the faculty and provided a center for religious students by organizing sessions on the interpretation of the Holy Quran. His special interest led him to devote most of his life to teaching education and ethics. When the imposed war began, he went to the front and stayed there for nearly a year, and was responsible for cultural work in the region where he was stationed. He has been teaching in higher education institutions since 1983 and is currently engaged in this work with the rank of associate professor as a member of the faculty of Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University.

He argues that many events commonly listed as “signs of reappearance” are actually events of the period of occultation—developments that may confirm the truth of the narrations, but do not necessarily occur at the exact time of the reappearance. The lecture then focuses on the definite signs mentioned in the narrations, especially: -The rise of Sufyani -The swallowing of the earth at Bayda -The heavenly cry and in some narrations, Yamani and the killing of Nafs al-Zakiyyah Dr. Mirbagheri also emphasizes a crucial warning: while believers may remain hopeful and attentive to current events, it is not permissible to speak with certainty and declare that a specific political or historical event is definitely one of the promised signs. Hope is allowed; certainty without proof is not. This is a thoughtful lecture on Mahdism, Ghaybah, the discipline of interpreting narrations, and the spiritual meaning of truly waiting for the reappearance.

He explains that the Quran does not merely mention the reappearance in passing; rather, it sets the framework for a global transformation led by Imam Mahdi. Dr. Mirbagheri categorizes these Quranic verses into three groups: Verses on the Ultimate Victory of Righteousness: Verses like Surah Al-Anbiya (21:105), which promise that the earth will be inherited by God’s righteous servants. Verses on the Promise to the Believers: Exploring Surah An-Nur (24:55), he explains the conditions of true faith and righteous deeds required to lead the world under the banner of the Imam.
